This is my first post in the group. Like others here, I’m working toward Japanese residency. In the meantime, I’m happy to volunteer to offer help to like-minded, entrepreneurial people who could use a practical hand and want to build a network along the way. I’ve owned businesses before and bring a broad range of experience. Feel free to reach out.

Tony Ong | Tokyo-based Real Estate Agent | An ambitious new grad

I’m Tony. From Vietnam, but been to Japan since 15. At this point, Japan is my main home.

4 years ago, I once rejected to get a rental apartment when I went university here in Tokyo

=> Decided to work in real estate so I can help foreigners with housing

I work in real estate across Tokyo and support foreigners who are looking for housing that fits their lifestyle, budget, and long-term plans, regardless the area. Most of my work involves guiding newcomers through the renting process, explaining contracts, and finding options that are actually realistic rather than overwhelming.

If anyone here is planning to move to Japan, thinking about relocating within the city, or simply wants to understand how the housing system works, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to share insights, answer questions, or point you toward good listings.

Looking forward to being part of this community and supporting whoever needs help settling in.

Big dreams happening: planning to move the family to Japan over the next few years 🇯🇵

My wife, our three kids, and I are starting to map this out properly. We're thinking somewhere that's good for families but still has that authentic Japan vibe - maybe somewhere like Takayama, Kanazawa, or even a smaller town we haven't discovered yet.

Honestly, we don't know anyone there right now, which is exactly why I built this platform in the first place 😅

If you're in Japan, have been to Japan, or are planning to head there - would love to hear your thoughts. Where would you raise a family? What should we know? Any hidden gems we should be looking at?

Also, if you're based there and fancy meeting up when we eventually make the move, even better 🙌
